Lori presented the Guiding Principles of our group. These are listed in the LAST Home pull down menu. We can develop a matrix of Guiding Principles vs. Focus Areas, and come up with possible detailed objectives, tasks and deliverables within each cell of the matrix.
Paul has arranged for Patty McManus to speak at our next meeting regarding current farmland issues (see Events posting for 11/20/07). Kurt reports that the logo is being developed by David & Kathy. Joe & Ann will be talking to their neighbors about peak oil issues & LAST. Sid has built a coldframe to grow winter vegetables. There is a webinar scheduled online on 11/27/07 for Third-Party Solar Financing Solutions at 10AM (see events for details). This invitation came thru PUD. We watched part of Oil Apocalypse. Rich will record it and Global Warming and Renewable Energy that is being shown on the History channel tonight. Sid is continuing to work on energy saving tips. Alex has developed a list of farms in the area. She will call them to insure accurate info before posting on the website. One thing our group can do is identify what is being grown in our area to see where the holes in the local food supply are.
