Information:

The 2008 SustainaBundy Directory and Guide: How to live a GREENER life in & around Bundaberg will be a 100 page A5 guide promoting relocalisation. Relocalisation is a strategy of reducing our consumption and sourcing our daily needs locally to wean ourselves off of oil and reduce the negative impacts of transport on the environment. At the same time, we'll be creating a stronger local economy and boosting tourism. The guide, targeted for Jan/Feb 2008 release, will be available for sale through local retailers for the reasonable recommended price of $2.

Why Should I Advertise?

Climate change and resource depletion have become major issues in the mainstream media, and consumers are paying more attention to the “green-ness” of their purchases. A recent study found that 8% of Australians shop according to their values, but remarkably, 41% are poised to follow if the products and price make sense. The SustainaBundy Directory and Guide will be the definitive resource for sustainability information in the Bundaberg region. Placing a quarter, half or full page advertisement in the SustainaBundy Directory and Guide will set you far apart from your competitors in Bundaberg and throughout Queensland as a business that cares about the environment and about our community.

This historic annual guide will feature:

  • FREE single line listings for appropriate businesses and community organisations (like a sustainability phone book!)
  • local businesses and organisations that strive to be environmentally responsible
  • businesses that make their own goods locally
  • businesses that sell a number of locally made goods
  • local cafés and restaurants that serve locally grown products
  • a map and directory of roadside produce stands in the region
  • brief, easy-to-read interviews and practical how-to articles on everything from recycling, to the benefits of keeping chooks, to conserving while improving your quality of life
  • online resources and more information on “green” living
  • printing on a waterless press with vegetable based inks on recycled Australian papers by Fishprint, one of the most environmentally responsible printers in Australia

The initial run will be 1,000 copies. The cheap purchase price, convenient size and quickly digestible information means readers can easily throw the guide in the glove box or backpack and refer to it whenever they shop in and around Bundaberg, all year long.
