April Meeting *UPDATED* Community Options Pot Luck!

*Location Change*

We've moved the upcoming meeting on Sunday, April 27th to Jonna M's (820 S Shoshone, on the Boise Depot bench).

This is Pot Luck- so a dish to share would be appreciated. And of course support local food when you can. (Farmer's market opens April 19th!)

There will be an overview of the garden techniques presented at the BUGS workshop. Additionally there are some potential community ventures such as barter systems, garden watch swaps and intentional neighborhoods that continue to surface among and between us. Come chat up these ideas. If there's time and interest, we'll do a Tour De Depot Bench and look at possibilities in this vibrant, close-in community.

I'm looking forward to

I'm looking forward to trying out some of Beth's wheat. Lucky us!

I've talked the man into making a couple of pies with local pumpkin and eggs.
I'm also going to put some beans on to soak and we'll bring a bean stew or chili using Mike Heath's beans.

Jay and I will be bringing a big green salad made from our home grown winter greens! They are so lovely right now and it was fun to have small greens all winter and now they are really taking off! Delicious!

Directions to my house

Last night after the Critical Mass bike ride, Scott asked for directions to my house. Here they are. My address is 820 Shoshone which is in between Cassia and Kootenai and right across the street from the main entrance to So. Jr. High. There is drought tolerant landscaping (I'm almost grassless) and a big silver maple out in front.

Since I have about four dozen eggs in the fridge, I'm making an egg dish (asparagus/mushroom frittata, I think). Anyone who wants some eggs to take home, please bring a carton! See you tomorrow around 3 p.m.!

Thanks!

Thanks Jonna!

After you talked about the frittata last night, I had to go to the market this morning and sure enough - fresh, local asparagus and morel mushrooms! So I won't compete with you but will have to figure out how to make this dish this coming week. Sounds very tasty!

So am going to try the potato salad bit with my own mayo - hope we all live to tell the tale!

See ya tomorrow...
