On December 18, 2007, the Berkeley City Council passed a peak oil resolution acknowledging the challenges of peak oil and recognizing the work of Oil Independent Berkeley. The resolution directs the City Manager to work with Oil Independent Berkeley to develop a preparedness plan and to incorporate peak oil issues into Berkeley's Climate Action Plan.
