Saturday April 5th Beth R. is putting on her annual Potting On party to pot tomatoes for her greenhouse operation and we're invited. Yay! (Well, T is not, so I'll have to pass. They've had children and dogs at this event in years past and it just hasn't worked out well. Keeping the varieties sorted properly takes concentration.)
Beth says she stays very busy keeping things organized so there's probably not a great deal of time for her to stop and chat. But it would still be a great opportunity for community-building and an up-close look at awesome Canyon Bounty Farm. Aren't we lucky ducks to have them here?! Let's support them and get involved. Mark your calendar and find a carpool!
Here are the details, forwarded to us by Beth:
Hello One and All -
We planted tomatoes earlier this week and thought I should let you know I will have the Tomato Potting On Party this year. (Sorry, I/we took a break last year.) So mark your calendars for Saturday, April 5, from 9 a.m. - noon. We'll take all those little tomato plants and pot them up into larger containers.
In case of cold weather, we can move into the barn and work under cover. Otherwise, we'll be outside under warm, blue skies.
What you bring:
If you have time, bring a finger food snack to share with others.
Gloves (I have some but maybe not enough)
Coffee / Tea mug
Dress in layers so you can shed coats as the day warms up
What you shouldn't bring:
Children
Dogs
What you'll find here:
Hot coffee, tea, juice
Coffee cake
Some gloves
A couple thousand tomatoes needing your help, and
a most appreciative farmer.
I'll send out another email reminder as we creep towards the planting date.
Thanks for your help. - Beth
P.S. The Greenhouse opens Saturday, April 19. Go to: www.canyonbountyfarm.com for more greenhouse details.

Canyon Bounty Tomato Potting On Party
I am planning on going out to Canyon Bounty to help out on that Saturday morning - is there any interest in vehicle pooling? I have to be back to Boise by 3 pm or so but otherwise can drive/ride...
Thanks!
Scott

Yes, I'm planning to go, and
Yes, I'm planning to go, and if I can get my 17-year-old son out of bed that morning, he will go too. (Andrew participated in BUGS--The Boise Urban Garden school for two summers so he likes to garden.) I will drive. Please let me know if any of you want to ride with us.

Hi Jonna,
I'll take you up on a ride but I am needing to be back to Boise by no later than 3 pm - will this be OK?
