Community Sustained Agriculture (CSA) is growing, quite literally, here in Boise. Imagine local, organic farms producing and thriving according to the seasons and months and doing it all in a sustainable way. Not only is it a viable option for farming locally, but they will even deliver to your doorstep once a week for the entire growing season. What a way to live consciously, healthy, and with the earth and seasons. While it's too late for the 2007 season, 2008 will be quickly upon us. Check out these local CSA's websites:

When you think about how far our food comes, even in the peak of summer, it still takes plenty of transportation and carbon to make it to our kitchens. We can cut down on the use of petrolium products and help create sustainable farming at the same time. It's also a great alternative for those who are living car-free and lite, as they deliver. There are often plenty of veggies and fruits to be canned for the winter too. CSA's rock!

Hi, doulamegan and welcome
Hi, doulamegan and welcome to BSLC. I've been enjoying your inspiring posts.
Thanks for the CSA links. One of the things I've been curious about are local CSA reviews. If you happen to be a member of one can you please let us know which one and what you like about it or anything you would like to be different? That would be so helpful for those of us shopping for a CSA for next year.
Any one currently using a CSA? Why did you choose that one? Are you liking it? Maybe we can create a designated CSA thread, posting reviews and recipes for current produce.
No accidents are happening here. -Rumi
