Lot's of folks want to know how they can get started in reducing their own energy usage. But how do we begin? What can we do to get started? These questions nag at us constantly.

Many people have heard of the Oil Depletion Protocol, but most don't realize that this pledge can be adopted not only by countries and States and cities, but also by groups, businesses and individuals, just like yourself.

Symbolically adopting the Oil Depletion Protocol is not just an act of good global citizenship: taking action can help reduce your expenditures on oil and its services, and thus help you personally to prepare for the approaching times of soaring energy prices. One recommendation is to seek to reduce your consumption of energy by 3% per year, or 25% over ten years in several areas, including:

- transportation choices
- food choices
- container choices
- product choices

Want some ideas on how to begin? Visit the Share page on the Oil Depletion Protocol website for lots of examples of how people, just like you, are taking action in their personal lives.

It's good stuff, and you can start right now!
