Ideas for demonstrations, fund raising and promptions. Eventually we might have a permanent business location.
We would sell sustainable/green items from the farmers market or public events. We could store our inventory at Sid & Laura's barn.
We could hook up with suppliers such as this http://www.solar-imports.com/Products.html to sell a variety of items that are already out there but not commonly found.
Here are some of the items we would sell/promote.
1. energy saving light bulbs & lighting fixtures
2. worm bins to turn all vegetable waste into natural fertilizer - we can make these
3. cold frames that are attached to or detached from a buiding. There are units on the market we could resell or we could make custom ones. This allows people to grow food year round.
4. solar cookers such as this
http://65.108.108.197/catalog/solarcookerskits-c-1.htmlosCsid=7e777afb36...
or we can make custom units to fit specific locations. Slow cook with the sun.
5. window heaters such as this http://www.jrwhipple.com/sr/solheater.html. we make & install these. Their may be some on the market that we could resell as well. Save on heating costs.
6. solar dehydrator - we could make & sell units similar to this but more substanial http://www.thefarm.org/charities/i4at/surv/soldehyd.htm People could dry foods economically with the sun
7. Distribute small attached greenhouses/sunrooms or window boxes. We can make and install these as well. You can grow plants & heat you house if the unit is on the south side over an existing window. It dumps heat into the house during the day when sun is out by opening the window. Close window at night or dark days.
8. Custom clothes lines for in or outside. Save on clothes drying. When done right they can be very functional & easy to use.
I have a library of books and DVDs that people could check out for free in order to educate people and help create a demand for our products.
We could sponsor seminars & training for people to learn organic gardening, worm bins, solar energy, canning & preserving and lots of other practical skills or information.
Eventually we could have commercial facilities where people come to can & preserve for themselves using our equipment.
