I think we met through Eugene's 8/9/08 Friendly Area Neighborhood/FAN (& others) green home bike trip. :-) I'll be writing a piece on the bike tour and/or community & neighborhood self-reliance, aka 'Relocalization', for the FAN's Fall newsletter. Due in mailboxes in October.

This is a vital time to be alive in the fresh Community possibilities as the current globalized system crumbles more significantly; witness yesterday's meltdown on Wall Street. The coming waves washing over us will become bigger and more significant.

An explanation to you and fellow subscribers as to the lighter than normal postings on our website lately: I'm limping toward a well-deserved vacation in less than 3 weeks, and am a bit low on personal energy now(only a few days off here-and-there this year, so far).
