Mini Presentations for Meetings

As we discussed at the last couple of meetings, we'd like to start something new:

We are asking for volunteers to create a 15 minute summary of an issue relating to energy awareness. My idea was to start with a list of potetnial fuel sources, so that each of us could speak intelligently about the topic to our friends and neighbors, or when tabling.

Potential Topics:
- Wind Power (Lorin wants this one)
- Methane Hydrates
- Tar Sands (Mike wants this one)
- Shale Oil
- Nuclear
- Geo Thermal
- Tidal
- BioFuels (Dfridley)

This work could form the basis for a series of PDF files that we could hand out.
Maximum size 8.5 x 11, double sided. Although you may want to develop a booklet for greater coverage of comlex topics.

Please add your comments and thoughts or volunteer for a topic.

Mini Presentations

Mike, I'd be interested in addressing the issue of biofuels for the January meeting (or a suitable time). It won't be pretty!

Please DO!

David, Please do prepare a brief presentation for us. I would like to do so for Oil Sands, and Lorin wants to do Wind Power. I'm also keenly interested in the shale oil resurgence, and the Navy's role in promoting that agenda. Mike

Resource Materials

Hi Mike, We're currently working on setting up a searchable resource library on the PCI site that people can tap into to look up relevant information, sample presentations and promotional materials etc. - if you come up with any materials that you think may be useful to others to use in their communities, please let us know and we could potentially include them in the resource library. For more info, you can email me at shelby@postcarbon.org, or Chris Borstad, our new Education Coordinator, at chrisborstad@postcarbon.org. cheers!
