• Workshops. On January 11, 19 people learned the basics of peak oil, looked at other community models (e.g., Kinsale, Stelle), and came up with ideas to implement right here at home. What if every school had a garden? What if the students tended the garden, and enjoyed the fruits (and vegetables) thereof? NOTE: This workshop repeats on Sunday, January 29th. RSVP at

• Green pages. Like a yellow pages, only different! This very local directory will promote the livelihood of small local business … some of them VERY small … like buying eggs from your neighbor who has a flock of chickens.

• Community gardens. Organizational meeting on Wednesday, February 8, at 7:00 p.m. Join us! There is plenty to do: site selection, crop selection, composting, and more. Again, RSVP at
