The Livability Project is based in the bay area, so our main focus is on urban communities and issues. Our company is sponsored by a non-profit and is in its 3rd year. We provide a range of services to address the systemic nature of sustainability including raising awareness through documentaries and speaker events, creating neighborhood Livability Maps to help envision a more sustainable future, and implementing and consulting on how to implement local projects.
We're currently in the planning phase with the City of Pacifica on an edible community garden and food safety program called SanchezGarden. It will be used as a CSA and community space for workshops and community dinners. We're also working closely with "It's about food" and local chefs for our local community dinners and have gotten food donations. Local businesses have offered technical equipment for the garden as well. To learn more about our existing projects and services, please visit us at: http://www.livabilityproject.org/services.
By 2010, sustainability practices* will be mainstream in all major U.S. cities.
We instigate positive environmental, economic and community change by raising awareness, creating vision maps for communities and by modeling local projects after we have successfully implemented them ourselves.

*Livability Project defines sustainability practices as organically and locally grown food consumption, use of wind and solar power, use of biodiesels, recycling and trade as a viable alternative to waste and debt spending, and an emphasis on purchasing local, green, and fair-trade products, etc.
