Relocalizesj - Growing a local economy....A website is launched.
The mission of relocalizesj is to promote community food security. Community food security is a condition in which all community residents obtain a safe, culturally acceptable, nutritionally adequate diet through a sustainable food system that maximizes community self-reliance and social justice.
Our website www.relocalizesj.org is up and running. The website will include a community food directory; check it out to find who is selling food that was produced in New Brunswick. Drop by our blog and get a daily update on our experiences with the 100 mile diet as well as information about local eateries and food vendors.
Food is basic need, common to all Life. Food production and food distribution, carried out to meet this basic need, are the common ground upon which we can build sustainable communities. Food production, otherwise known as agriculture and food processing, can create sustainable employment, healthy neighbourhoods and a strong local economy.
