Next PCSCV Meeting on 8/3/06

I just got off the phone with Parker Watwood from the
Foundation for Sustainable Living. He says he can
make it to our next meeting on 8/3 and will stay the
whole 2 hours. For those of you not sure what FOSL is
about, they are looking for land from Pt. Reyes north
to British Columbia, anywhere from 60 - 4000 acres
(basically any size) with a special focus on adequate
water and forest resources. They are forming an
intentional community structure now and deciding on
many aspects of how this community would function now.
He said those that contribute more time/energy
certainly have more influence on where things head.
He also indicated that some of the folks in this group
are looking for a save-haven investment, with no plans
to live on the land unless things get too chaotic.

I told him we'd have lots of questions (I know I do!)
so I hope everyone can make it at St. Lawrence,
7-9:00pm. If we can not get into the school, we will
just meet at the tables by the pool again.

Also, he invited any of us (as Sylvie has in the past)
to the next meeting of the FOSL community on July
27th, 7-9:00pm at the Grange in Santa Cruz.
(Directions: Hwy 17 to Hwy 1 south, take the Soquel
exit and then take an immediate Left onto frontage
road that follows Hwy 1 south. Turn Right on 17th
ave, go 2.5 blocks and look for the Grange). If I am
in town, I would like to go, but I am not certain
about that yet. If anyone else is interested, please
speak up and we can carpool.

That will be our entire meeting for the month of
August. I would still like to get to a few more
farmer's markets this summer too, so hopefully we can
coordinate that before/after the meeting on 8/3.

See you there,
Linda
