September 25th - A big day for Ruby

Chérie and Andi are guest speakers at the Burnett Inland Economic Development Organisation’s (BIEDO's) Annual General Meeting on the 25th September.

The AGM represents a forum of delegates from each of the Inland’s 12 shire councils, together with representatives from some state and federal government departments and local businesses. Hervey Bay MP Andrew McNamara is tentatively scheduled as the opening speaker to discuss peak oil. Andi will talk about relocalization and the Oil Depletion Protocol and Chérie will introduce Ruby and invite the forum delegates to attend Ruby’s launch later in the day.

We are excited that representatives from Foresters ANA (a Ruby partner) are going to travel the five hours from Brisbane to join us on our big day. All Burnett Inland residents and Ruby supporters are warmly encouraged to join us on the 25th. Contact Chérie or Andi for more information.

Oh that's a shame Ree.

Oh that's a shame Ree. McNamara is a very well informed and convincing PO speaker. Of course, you could always quote liberally from his published speeches and interviews.

Peak oil is coming-soon-and no alternative energy source available to us today or in the foreseeable future is going to make up the total energy shortfall. The beginning of the end of the oil age is upon us, and it is time to respond fully to that challenge.

It is

But on the flip side, Andi has developed a relationship with his office - which could serve the three of us (Ruby, BRR and the SC group) well in the future.
