Dr. Sarkissian, a native Vancouverite now located in Australia, will present on recent research in Australia’s capital cities and her report: "SOCIAL ISSUES AND TRENDS ASSOCIATED WITH MEDIUM-TO-HIGH DENSITY URBAN LIVING”.

The presentation will be followed by a discussion on the implications for the Greater Vancouver Region.

Canadian-born Dr Wendy Sarkissian was educated at the University of British Columbia and at universities in the USA and Australia. Widely regarded as a leader in her profession and acclaimed as a humorous and thought-provoking speaker, Dr Sarkissian is a Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia and a Member of the International Board of Global Urban Development. She is also the award-winning author of several books on housing and community engagement. Dr. Sarkissian was a Keynote Speaker at The World Planners Congress in June and will be working on a Post-Occupancy Evaluation of Vancouver’s inner city housing in the new year. We are delighted to have this opportunity to hear from this remarkable hands-on expert in the field of housing and community development.
