Hello all!
Love your site-it seems like a great place for those who are progressively moving forward in this world.
I'd like to introduce myself/ourselves. We at the Seasteaders Institute teach lessons on how to put together a sustainable lifestyle at sea, or at least in coastal environments around the world. The majority of our projects involve engineless sailboats from 30 to 50 feet in lenght--these boats are homes, means of transportations, and homesteads. This is a vibrant and growing community--we're out here doing this--this isn't theoretical at all. As I write, I'm anchored in Sausalito having sailed down from British Columbia a month ago.
Seasteading is a unique opportunity for self-motivated individuals with a good skill set. As I like to point out, sail is the only proven alternative energy source with centuries of tradition behind it. A good seastead can be put together for about two dollars pound(huh?) and represents a financial outlay much less invasive than a land based lifestyle.
