Vancouver Area Relocalisation Network

Hello Y'all,

My name is Franklin Lopez and I am sort of new to Vancouver. My wife and I moved here in 2005 into a house on 5th and Macdonald. Even though the house burned down a few months after us moving in, we were so impressed with the neighborhood response to our tragedy that we decided to stay in Kitsilano.

I've been concerned with energy issues for quite some time and I am worried that Vancouver is not moving fast enough to address the coming oil scarcity. I have little faith in government and great hope in community.

So with that said, I am eager to meet more like minded individuals in the Kitsilano area who want to be involved in community organizing. I am interested in starting a food coop and in learning how two grow my own food.
