<img src="http://www.relocalize.net/files/images/luz_4_b_0.gif"> Part of <a href="http://www.transmission-x.com/luz/2007/10/26/hello-world/">Luz: Girl of the Knowing</a> - <a href="http://www.transmission-x.com/luz/2007/11/05/luz-episode-4/">Episode 4</a> by <a href="http://www.claudiadavila.com/franwho2.htm">Claudia Dávila ("Fran")</a> (in Toronto) Claudia's work is important because she's grappling with oil & gas depletion in a fresh way -- a way that may reach people who haven't connected with other presentations (e.g. The End of Suburbia, e.g. Kunstler's blog, etc). Of course, the comic is only one approach to the future that might come and how we might respond to it. We can't know what will happen, and there are several strategies and visions out there. Claudia's take is a relatively positive one, I think. She sure isn't advocating a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mad_max">Mad Max</a> or <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_of_the_living_dead">Night of the Living Dead</a> last-one-standing and/or bunker-building vision. So the comic doesn't only put peak oil and gas issues on the table in a new way; it's also a constructive approach. <a rel="license" href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/"><img alt="Creative Commons License" style="border-width:0" src="http://i.creativecommons.org/l/by-nc/3.0/80x15.png" align="right"/></a>
