Overnight Camp Trip

Wow, this is something I would really like to join in on. We don't have 100 acres, but we are going to try growing food on our 1 1/3 acre. Now to get rid of our lawn and pasture...I have been trying to read as much as I can about permaculture for the past few months and would love to meet this family.

Unfortunately, my husband works at the Bronco football games and this Saturday is the opener. It's going to be busy around here for the next few months!

I could do other events during football season and miss a few of the games, but probably wouldn't be up to camping without some of my family members with me.

Just to share, I am excited that we bought our first solar panel. It is small and will just run a fan on our roof, but at least it's something solar and it's a start.

Best,
Beth

How exciting, Beth, both

How exciting, Beth, both about the land you have and your foray into solar power. We won't be heading out on the ride this weekend, either, but I wanted to pass along some inspiration for you regarding smaller plots.

Thank you for Website!

It is almost 1 in the morning and I have been pouring over the link you sent, Anneliese, for over an hour! I love this family and it is my aspiration to try to achieve many of their energy-saving techniques and also to grow food at home. I love their chicken coop and am trying to design a plan for our property where we can have chickens. Not sure if I want to have an official chicken coop or use a chicken tractor as many permaculture books suggest.

Is there a permaculture group in Boise who meets and discusses plans and ideas? Is there many in this group who are interested in permaculture?
