2008 Post Carbon Eugene Public Forum Series Presents "Moving Beyond the Global Age of Energy and Economic Uncertainty to Local Permaculture Prosperity"

In the midst of the building storm connected to our dysfunctional global economy, on Sept. 30th Eugenians will have an excellent opportunity to learn how to create a local, truly sustainable, home-based economy based on the permaculture patterns of a nature-based world.

On Tuesday, Sept. 30, at 7PM, Post Carbon Eugene's 2008 Peak Oil Public Forum Series will resume at EWEB's North Building Training Room with area-known permaculture figure Jan Spencer speaking on "Moving Beyond the Global Age of Energy and Economic Uncertainty to Local Permaculture Prosperity". Jan's talk will focus on the troubles we've headed into with the industrial age, where we are now, and how we can learn from the true, sustainable patterns of nature to grow lives of peace and community prosperity.

Informative Jan Spencer has traveled throughout the Northwest speaking on the benefits of culture change. He's converted his 1/4 River Road lot from grass and weeds to an oasis of abundant organic vegetable and fruit trees, removed concrete and added passive solar remodeling. Jan is also active in neighborhood planning issues.

Post Carbon Eugene's Peak Oil Public Forum Series most recently presented the University of Oregon Law School's Tim Hicks in a thoughtful presentation exploring our future hopes in kinesthetic fashion in: "The Climate Change/Peak Oil Crisis and the Human Story: What Role Compassion?". Upcoming presentations will include meaningful lifestyle choices embodied in Voluntary Simplicity.

The event is free. Contributions may be sent to Post Carbon Eugene, 2786 Almaden St, Eugene, 97405
