Summer is here and to celebrate, many of the articles in this month's edition have a solar theme. In a post carbon world we shall all need to rely on renewable energy sources for power. In the articles below you can discover how solar energy can be harnessed for cooking, get an update on the progress of solar power in cities, and also learn about a project which is aiming to create a cost effective concentrated solar power system. In other articles this month, Post Carbon president Julian Darley and senior fellow Richard Heinberg provide insights on initial public and political reactions to the growing oil shock, while our Energy Farms Network are contemplating the link between oil and food. Finally there is an opportunity to catch up with our regular digest of Global Public Media, a selection of three articles appearing in Energy Bulletin, and upcoming events. Best wishes from everyone at Post Carbon Institute! 1. Julian Darley - The Balloon Goes Up: Are We At A Peak Oil Tipping Point? |
