The Regional Localization Networking Conference for 2007 will be held May 18-20 at Brooktrails Lodge in Willits. RLNC 2007 will be an opportunity for participants and groups to focus deeply on their localization progress to date sharing their successes, challenges and difficulties. As the general public becomes increasingly aware of the social, economic and environmental trends facing our communities it is imperative that the localization movement remains coherent and focused on its goals of community renewal.
As many of us are finding, our success at birthing and developing on-the-ground projects depends mainly on how well we communicate with each other and build relationships within our communities and beyond. Our conference will explore this theme and offer insights and practical approaches to this timely issue.
Peter Russell, internationally acclaimed futurist, environmentalist and entertaining speaker and author, will give the keynote address on Saturday evening. Don Shaffer, Executive Director of BALLE, will also present. Addditionally, there will be small group and panel discussions on important issues including working with our local governments and food production efforts.
The cost of the conference is $295 including accomodations and six meals or $150 to attend the conference with meals and without accommodations. As part of the event this year we will be featuring locally sourced organic wine & food beginning with dinner on Friday evening. To apply, click here to download the conference packet. If you any questions, please call us at (707) 459-1256. We look forward to gathering together once again to further our localization efforts.
