Community Economic Localization (Colorado)

Monday, February 12, 7pm “The Secret” – a viewing and discussion of this inspiring new film that has been a life changing experience for many. GEO Store, 559 Main Street in Carbondale.

“The Secret” is a documentary style film about the Universal Law of Attraction which is, in a nutshell, about how we attract wanted and unwanted people/events/things into our lives. The premise of the film is that whatever we say “yes” to we attract and whatever we say “no” to we also attract. This has interesting implications for our CEL group. Whatever we focus upon we put energy into and it gets bigger. It has me wonder about the wisdom of spending very much time talking about what is wrong in the world with regards to peak oil and global warming. By doing this, are we putting more energy into what is not wanted? In the context of this film, we would primarily be talking about how we want things to be in our community/lives and get excited about and act upon what is possible in relationship to “going local”.

This film is floating around the valley. Please watch it if you get a chance. It just may change your life! And it may be the inspiration CEL needs to really get on the same page as a community and move forward with inspired action!
