Transition City Bristol is a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers. Over the next couple of years we will be seeking answers to the question - 'How can Bristol prepare fo the impact of Peak Oil and reduce its contribution to Climate Change?' A fairly big question. We don't intend to give you the answers - we'd like you to join in the debate until we work it out between us. This process will help us create an Energy Descent Action Plan - a roadmap for Bristols move to resilient, sustainable systems which vastly reduce the city's dependency on fossil fuels and radically decrease its CO2 emissions.
We will be holding a series of talks, workshops, film showings and debates across the city from March 2007 onwards. See the What's On page for details
Events will be a way of bringing you new angles, views and expertise to help you get to grips with the question. As an individual, group or organisation your experience, skills and knowledge are valuable pieces in the jigsaw. If we can discover new ways of thinking, talking and acting as a community we're already on the way to making Bristol a more sustainable place to live.
We will be looking at our food supply, energy use, transport solutions, building techniques, community initiatives, water supply, biodiversity and how each person in Brisol can reduce their impact. Change takes time and the issues are pressing. Lets start planning and acting now to create a thriving, resilient, sustainable Bristol for many generations to come!
