What a Way to Go: Life at the End of Empire
Wednesday November 28,
6:30 PM in Fraser Hall 4, WWU
This film was shown in October at Whatcom Community College, filling the Heiner auditorium (over 320 people). Due to popular demand the WWU Environmental Center is bringing it to WWU. If you missed it the first time, here's your second chance. Don't miss seeing this film - sure to become an environmental classic documentary. This would make an excellent follow up to the David Korten presentation on the 27th (Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship on I St).
A middle class American comes to grips with Peak Oil, Climate Change, Mass Extinction, Population Overshoot and the demise of the American Lifestyle. Need we say more? Why not. Featuring interviews with Daniel Quinn, Derrick Jensen, Jerry Mander, Chellis Glendinning, Richard Heinberg, Thomas Berry, William Catton, Ran Prieur and Richard Manning, What a Way to Go looks at the current global situation and asks the most important questions of all: How did we get here? Why do we keep destroying the planet? What do we truly want? Can we find a vision that will empower us to do what is necessary to survive, and even thrive, in the coming decades?
The show is free and starts at 6:30 in Fraser Hall 4. For more information go to http://www.whatawaytogomovie.com or contact the AS Environmental Center by emailing us or by phone (360)-650-6129. Please help us get the word out.
