Pioneer Valley Relocalization Workshop

Come help build our post-carbon future at the
Pioneer Valley Relocalization Workshop
Sunday, September 30, 2007
Northampton Center for the Arts
10:00am - 6:00pm
Northampton, MA

a day of sharing, vision, & empowerment for a healthy, just, sustainable and democratic future.

Come hear from inspired local grassroots organizations blazing the trail for revitalized, sustainable communities
in the Pioneer Valley. With speakers, workshops, tabling, local food, arts & more.

Our keynote speaker will be Frances Moore Lappé, who is launching her new book called "Getting a Grip: Clarity, Creativity, & Courage in a World Gone Mad."

Brought to you by the Massachusetts Coalition for Healthy Communities, and a coalition of local activists.

For more information visit http://www.masschc.org/RelocalizeSep30.html, call (413) 256-1157, or write to info@masschc.org

The workshop will be addressing subjects spanning five major topics: local, sustainable agriculture and food security; peak oil and global warming; local energy production and conservation; revitalizing local economies; and reclaiming & redefining democracy.

We will be exploring how to promote a stronger, more integrated Relocalization movement, and we hope the workshop will be the beginning of a sustained effort to develop an action plan for how we in the Pioneer Valley can adapt to the converging crises of global warming and peak oil, as well as the economic, social, and political deterioration caused by corporate globalization.

We plan to explore the potential for linking local and regional activities to statewide efforts; share models from other regions of the country; and begin building a proactive political agenda to overcome existing obstacles to creating just, sustainable communities in the Commonwealth.
